2025 Mentor Hunt

Sioux Prairie PF's 2025 Youth Hunt was a resounding success.  Thanks to all of our patrons for supporting our youth programming in various ways!

The annual Youth Mentor Pheasant Hunt was held at the Rock Valley Gun Club Oct 18th. 19 kids and 23 volunteers participated, with 8 roosters harvested. Sioux Prairie Pheasants Forever, Sioux County Conservation Board, Rock Valley Gun Club are the sponsors. Thank you to Freedom's Echo Taxidermy for donating a taxidermy session to a youth. Thank you to all involved, including those landowners who offer their land to these youth each year.  A Pheasants Forever Ringneck Youth Membership is also included in the participation of this event.

Congratulations to all of the youth on handling themselves well during the event.  This is the 25th year that we have held this program.  Once again, this event would not be possible without the generous donations of our sponsors and the myriad of volunteers that offer their time and support.  Thank you for investing in the outdoors and in our next generation of outdoorsmen and outdoorswomen!

Pheasants Forever mentored pheasant hunts are the ideal way to introduce kids and teens to hunting, as experienced volunteer hunters from Pheasants Forever coach youth on the importance of firearm safety, wildlife habitat and hunting technique.

Every youth who attends our mentor hunt gets a free Ringneck PF membership courtesy of Sioux Prairie PF!
